XenApp 6.x – Publishing Google Chrome

This article provides the steps on XenApp 6.x to publish Google Chrome and removing the Sandbox Security Warning Message.

Due to an issue Publishing Chrome on Citrix XenApp the workaround’s provided by Citrix in the Article CTX132057 are to either run Chrome within a Published Desktop or use the –no-sandbox command line switch. ¬†When using the –no-sandbox command line option users are presented with a message when they start Chrome saying “You are using an unsupported command-line flag: –no-sandbox. Stability and security will suffer”.

Publishing Chrome Without The Warning Message

In order to Publish Chrome and remove the warning message perform the following steps :-

  • Install Chrome using the enterprise standalone installer
  • Publish a new application in the AppCenter
  • When prompted for the command line to use enter the following :-

“C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe” –allow-no-sandbox-job –disable-gpu

  • Save the Published Application

Now Google Chrome will launch as a Published Application and open a web page without showing the warning message

N.B. This resolution has been tested as working on XenApp 6.5 using Google Chrome Version 24
